NOTE. On Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th of May, the trains running will be limited because the French Railways Company (SNCF) is partially on strike. However trains that are open for booking at https://en.oui.sncf/en/ will be running (see below for information).
Nancy is a registered UNESCO World Heritage Site for its rich architecture from the XVIII Century.
The Place Stanislas is one of the most beautiful royal squares in Europe, with its famous gilded wrought-iron gates and the buildings surrounding the square.
Access
The 8th Conference will take place in the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of Université de Lorraine in Nancy (precisely in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy)
starting Tuesday (May 29th) for 2 ½ days (ends Thursday 31st of May)
Nancy is conveniently accessible by train (from Paris city, Paris CDG airport, Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Zürich, and numerous other cities), by plane (via Paris, Luxembourg, Basel, Lyon, and connecting trains), and by car (from neighbouring countries).
The closest airports are Roissy Charles de Gaulle, Luxembourg and Strasbourg. From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, North of Paris, you can get a TGV (High Speed Train) at the airport station which will take you at Lorraine TGV Station, linked to the city by an efficient shuttle bus. Please check on www.voyages-sncf.comfor booking. If you fly with Air France you can ask for a TGV Air ticket with the flight that works out cheaper. Roissy works with low-cost companies also such as easyJet. From Luxembourg and Strasbourg airports, the trains are arriving directly in the city centre at Nancy Ville Station. French can also reach the small airport Metz-Nancy-Lorraine from Toulouse, Marseille, Nice and Milano. Europeans can also reach Nancy by train via Basel, Zurich, Frankfurt or Amsterdam airports. |
